Self-Pay Session Rates
- 90 minute diagnostic session or intake session-$150
- 60 minute individual therapy session- $130
- 60 minute couples therapy session-$150
- 90 minute couples communication skills teaching session-$175
The Haven Center accepts Carefirst BlueCross & BlueShield insurance plans. This includes BlueChoice. We do not accept any other insurance plans at this time but we accept out of pocket (or self-pay).
Carefirst BlueCross & BlueShield insurance plans vary widely. Depending on your plan, your sessions may be fully covered, or you may be responsible for a copay. Make sure that BlueCross is your primary insurance, not secondary. You can call the phone number on the back of your insurance card to clarify what your policy covers.
We would recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits? Does it include telehealth benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
We accept cash and all major credit cards as forms of payment. We also accept HSA and FSA cards.
What happens if I need to cancel the session?
Please give 24 hours notice to cancel the session so that another person can use the time. Failure to give 24 hours notice will result in being charged the full session fee. If you have a true emergency, we can assess on a case by case basis. Maryland residents will be able to request a teletherapy session if unable to come in person.

The Haven Center is located in Pikesville, MD. Which is in Baltimore County, Maryland. Nearby areas are: Owings Mills, Baltimore, Howard County, MD. Due to COVID-19 we are operating 100% teletherapy (video) until further notice.
